On Friday, November 3rd, some classes had very few students. Why you may ask? Well, the blood drive of course! Hosted by the Medical Club and held in the small gym on the first floor, the blood drive was done in collaboration with the New York Blood Center. It aimed at increasing participation of blood donation among high school teens particularly around 16 years of age and above. Sign-ups for the blood drive took place days before the event and consisted of student members of the Medical Club stationed at various stands around frequented student areas in the school most particularly (outside and inside the student center or cafeteria).
Teachers and students both new and old donors were provided with snacks afterward and encouraged to sit down for a bit before going back to their respective classes. It was another successful blood drive at Teaneck High School and each person who donated blood has the privilege of knowing that their blood can save three lives!!
