- How did you maintain your mental health and stress?
When dealing with stress the big thing that helped me was dealing with each problem one at a time. Just focus on resolving one issue before you focus a lot of attention on something else in order to prevent yourself from being overwhelmed. Being overwhelmed by all the bad will do you nothing while tackling each problem individually will eventually help you handle everything.
- What’s one piece of advice you wish you had when you started high school?
Do all your homework immediately. Whenever I got home, I would ignore all my schoolwork and just forget about it. Constantly ignoring my assignments led to my grades dropping and a lot of unnecessary stress and hardships. Just make sure that once you get home, you do all your homework and get it out of the way early. It clears your mind and allows you to relax.
- What are some mistakes to avoid when preparing for college or post-graduation life?
Avoid applying to too many places. Around five is a good sweet spot it can get overwhelming with all the different offers along with other things. And don’t do too little for obvious reasons (like I did). Along with this go to college fairs and visits to see if you really like the college, just because a place seems good on the paper, that doesn’t mean there are some things you aren’t aware of.
