Lost and Found

At some point in time, we have all experienced losing something valuable. A common experience that drives me over the walls is losing my valuables in my room. “I just had it,” a sentence I cry out as I look frantically for the missing item. My AirPods and my watch products are the most often lost in my room, but it’s easy to forgive that happening since I can use my app to find them. One specific morning I was preparing to get ready for school at 8:15. I had done my usual morning routine and was finished getting ready when I noticed that one very important accessory was missing, my watch. Ever since I bought the watch using my sweet sixteen money, it has become a very important part of my life. I’ve grown accustomed to it being on my wrist all the time, occasionally taking it off to charge, or if my wrist needed a break.

Retracing back to the conflict, I could not find the watch. I looked in my bed, under my bed, atop the shelf over my bed, isolated. After manually looking for the headphones, I decided to bring in reinforcements, especially with school being in less than 15 minutes. I grab my phone and ask the app to ring up my watch. It grants my request and rings my watch. I begin to draw nearer to the sound, but as I explore the area there are no traces of the watch’s existence. I watched the clock turn to 8:05 as I cried out in frustration. I play the sound again declaring that I need more reinforcement. The sound goes off again in the same area and I immediately start checking again for my watch.

Suddenly, I decided to check my drawer, doubting that it would appear there since I had no reason to put the watch there. My assumption was incorrect because the watch appeared in my small top drawer ringing away. Part of me was still frustrated by its location but relieved to have found my watch. I check my watch for the time that shows 8:10 giving me five minutes to make it to school.
