Growing up, she loved watching Disney channel which included Lizzie Mcguire. When she watched The Lizzie Mcguire Movie, she fantasized what it would be like to travel to Italy. In 2018, Malyeka was presented with the opportunity to go to Italy by her Grandmother. Can you imagine her excitement? Malyeka was ecstatic to go and couldn’t wait to be in Europe. She’s traveled to many places like the Bahamas and Antigua, but she’s never been anywhere in Europe. She was set to travel with her Grandmother, Aunt, younger and older cousin. 

Malyeka could hardly contain her joy as she went shopping for her trip. When she packed her bags alongside her Mom, she even packed her polaroid camera to take candid pictures. The flight was about ten hours or more, which was her longest flight, but she didn’t mind, because there was so much to do on the plane. In the air, Malyeka spent her time eating, drinking, sleeping, and watching movies as she flew to Italy. The minute she landed and was being transported to her stay, she was mesmerized by the scenery that Italy had to offer, especially the intricate architecture and couldn’t wait to see more. 

Malyeka’s 2018 European summer was one for the books. She went to multiple cities in Italy which included Rome, Positano, and Pisa. The September after her trip when it was time to go to school, she raved about her trip to anyone who asked about her summer. Till this day, Malyeka is still enraptured with Italy and it’s the vacation that awakened her love for traveling .
