Being an only child, a lot of the shows I hear about are from my friends and my parents, and in this case, both groups told me to watch this show. You’ve probably heard about it and its fandom. It’s directed by Eric Kripke, it airs on the CW, it’s on its 15th and final season, and stars Jensen Ackles, Jared Padelecki, Misha Collins, and Mark Sheppard, to name a few. If you haven’t guessed it by now, its a show called Supernatural. This show follows two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester, as they fight off threat after demonic threat. Their job is to hunt the, you guessed it, supernatural, with the help of angels, prophets, and even the king of Hell himself.

This show, to say the least, has a special charm. The directors and writers find fun ways to break the cookie-cutter mold that the episodes could conform to. To name a few examples, the brothers get transported to a world where they’re on the set of the show as themselves, Sam had to relive the same day over and over without anyone knowing, and the pair has to travel through TV stations to play the game of “the Trickster”.

In my personal opinion, the show starts out a little slower, as most shows do. The episodes are less about humor and more about the demon hunting. However, as the show progresses, it’s obvious that the writers wanted the show to be more than just some dark, sad show about demons and ghosts. They mold these all-around fun and loveable characters and create a unique dynamic between the trio of the two brothers and an angel named Castiel. The show surely isn’t all laughs and there are a lot of serious moments, but the show isn’t full of doom and gloom.

I must admit, I’m not caught up with the show in the slightest, as I’m only on Season 8, but that’s not at all the fault of the show. I simply watch shows slower and I can’t sit and binge anything all day, even if it’s the best show I’ve ever seen. However, I truly do love this show and I really recommend it for anyone looking for something to watch during this quarantine.
