The Teaneck High School annual art show consists of pieces from all art classes in the building. This year’s show included paper-mach sculpture, clay sculptures, paintings, drawings, and many more art types.
For my art review, I decided to spotlight one artist: Sylvana Dipre. Sylvana is currently a junior taking Art 2, took Art 1 last year, and will be taking AP Art next year. Sylvana is interested in pursuing a career in interior design and plans to attend college with this same major. For her assignment in class, she was required to create a painting using two points of perspective. In this painting (pictured below), she decided to include a typical Parisian apartment. A notable detail included in this painting is the lack of a television since many Parisian apartments feature mirrors above their fireplaces rather than American apartments that usually have televisions. She researched the typical Parisian apartment on Pinterest and through articles.
All in all, this art show and piece specifically highlights the extensive care that the art students of Teaneck High take to produce their best work.
